Author Biographies

Michael Hatzius, "Ernst Busch" University of Dramatic Arts

Studied puppetry at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art, Berlin. 2006 graduation as Diplom-Puppeteer/Performing Artist. Guest engagements as puppeteer and actor at the Schauspiel Hannover, the Deutsches Staatstheater Weimar and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, among others. Founded the independent group "Theater Urknall" with international guest performances. Guest lectureships at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art, Department of Puppetry, among others. Since 2009 successful with the character "The Lizard" and other characters in theater and television. Awarded, among others, the jury prize of the Prix Pantheon 2012 and the German Cabaret Prize 2013.

Phillip Helmke, Bochum University

Studied German and English/American Studies as well as Modern German Literature at Leibniz Universität Hannover and Universitat de Barcelona. Since 2020 working as a freelance writer on literaturkritik.de and research assistant at the Institute of German Studies at Ruhr University Bochum. Work and research interests: History and theory of the German-language novella, contemporary novellistics, literary imaginaries of maritime spaces, and - author-specific - Kurt Tucholsky (member of the Kurt Tucholsky Society) and Günter Grass.
