Abstract

This review presents the digitally published "Little History of Theater" by medievalist and Celtic scholar Helmut Birkhan, written in a very personal handwriting, in which he provides diverse insights into his extensive private collection on the world of miniature theater and Viennese Pimperltheater.

Master's degree in German philology. Master's degree in German philology, and philosophy at the University of Cologne and the University of Vienna. Cologne and University of Vienna. Main research interests: Animation studies, 'Early Film' and Film and Theater of the Weimar Republic; Women Authors of the 19. and 20th century, interdisciplinary border crossings in literature, visual arts, theater and film.
