Abstract

This contribution presents a sequence of photos, interview excerpts and text fragments on the subject of love dolls, which are part of a larger project (see Püppi ist da/Püppi Arrived: https://www.monikahanfland.de/pppi-arrived). The views and self-images of the users/owners as well as the attitudes and experiences of the manufacturers of Real Dolls are followed. The human-doll-relationships shown challenge the viewers to deal with questions of normality, everydayness and potentials in dealing with dolls as human substitutes.
