Scope and purpose of the processing of personal data

Registration

The website contains a registration form which has two functions:

Authors and reviewers need the login to upload articles and to access the backend of the journal. The legal basis for the collection and processing of the registration data is Art. 6 (1)1 lit. b. It is necessary for the implementation of the publication agreement, as it provides the editors with the necessary contact details.

The data requested in the registration form is stored. They serve to uniquely identify the person registering. Users assign themselves a user name and password during registration. These are used to log in to the password-protected user area. This is done to ensure that the individual user can be identified and that no one else can access the account.

The data provided during registration may be used to contact you and to grant you thenecessary rights for the backend.

The data will be deleted when the user deletes his/her account. This is done by sending a corresponding e-mail with the user name of the account to be deleted to: dedo@ub.uni-siegen.de

Personal data for contribution submissions

Personal information submitted with contributions (in particular names, institutional affiliation, biographical information, email and homepage address) will be published with the contribution in the event of its publication. (Art. 6 para. 1 p.1 lit. b, data processing in the context of a contractual relationship).

ORCID-ID

When submitting an article, authors are asked to agree that their article will be linked to their ORCID, if available. The linking will only take place after the authors have logged in with their ORCID access data in a pop-up window. It therefore requires their own active and voluntary action.

We provide information on this and on the functionality and benefits of ORCID-iD at: https://www.ub.uni-siegen.de/index.php?id=empfehlungen_ub&L=1#c9164

The linking of the author's name with his/her ORCID is done for the purpose of being able to use the advantages of the ORCID-iD, such as visibility and findability. It takes place exclusively with consent and on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a. The link remains in place until consent is revoked.

If authors do not have an ORCID, they have the possibility to go directly from our site to the registration page at ORCID via a link: https://orcid.org/register

The responsibility for the data entered there and data processing lies solely with ORCID and is beyond our control. Therefore, we refer to ORCID's own privacy policy: https://orcid.org/footer/privacy-policy

Journal Hosting

de:do is hosted by the Center for Digital Systems (CeDiS) of the FU Berlin, which thus has access to the registration data. CeDiS processes this data exclusively for the purposes of and on behalf of the editors and only insofar as this is necessary to fulfil the technical service of hosting the journal.
